What is my matchlist? Your matchlist is the master control for your match results.

It is generated by the AI Room MatchMaker immediately after you place your FREE ad.

It displays in one glance all of the listings that you match and the status of each listing. You can identify a new match, one that you have shortlisted or rejected. You can also see matches where the other person has shortlisted you, and best of all, gold star matches where you have each shortlisted one another.

Simply click on the title of an individual listing to see the full detail for that listing.
To contact an advertiser, you must first place your own FREE listing. The AI Room MatchMaker will compare your listing with all other listings and generate a matchlist showing all your potential matches in descending order of suitability.

Now you must evaluate each potential match and either SHORTLIST or REJECT the proposed match. When you shortlist a match, the system immediately sends that advertiser an alert informing them of your interest in their listing. (A rejected match is hidden from the other advertiser).

Now it is up to the other advertiser. If they shortlist you in return, then you have created a GOLD STAR MATCH where you have each expressed an interest in contacting the other.

Finally, when you both upgrade to Premium membership, you will each be able to see the others' contact details and get in touch confident that there is a good chance that things will work out. (The No Match No Pay Guarantee protects your payment if you upgrade but none of your Gold Star Matches also upgrades - in that rare event you get a full refund automatically).

How do I sort my matchlist?
When you first click on your matchlist, it is sorted by match percentage with the best possible match at the top. This is designed to make it easy for you to focus your attention on what are likely to be the best matches for you.

However, naturally you may have your own opinions about what makes a match most relevant to you. For example, you may want to concentrate on matches in a particular suburb or you might have a maximum rent amount that you simply will not exceed. In this case, simply click on the column title for the criteria you are interested in and the results will be resorted using that criteria.

You can use this technique to show ads with photos at the top of your matchlist - simply click on the camera icon.

Finally, it is often useful to sort your results by match status, especially when you have a long match list. In the example shown, the orange primary sort button has been clicked. This sorts the matchlist so that all NEW matches are shown at the top. That way you can quickly make sure that you have not missed out on evaluating a potential match.

You can use the primary sort function to place matches of any type - all Gold Star Matches for example - at the top of your matchlist.

The different sort functions can even be used in combination. For example, you could use the primary sort to put all new matches at the top, then sort these by maximum rent and finally match percentage. The sorting function is as powerful as your imagination!
The match percentage is the degree to which your profile matches each ad. The AI Room MatchMaker compares your ad with every other ad and evaluates over 30 different criteria to see how closely your mutual requirements fit.

Availability dates are one of the most important criteria assessed by the AI Room MatchMaker. It's not much good being a brilliant match in every way if you need a place to love now but your perfect share home is not available for six months.

The degree to which availability dates match change every day. When you first look at a match a place that is not availale for two weeks is not a great match if you are looking now. But in ten days time, if you still haven't found somewhere it is a much more appealing match.

The AI Room MatchMaker recalibrates the match percentage evry day to take account of factors like these.
When you shortlist an ad you like, the system sends the other advertiser an alert informing them of your interest in their ad. Now they get the change to see how well they match with you. And if you are shortlisted in return, a so-called GOLD STAR MATCH has been created and you will be able to contact one another, confident in the knowledge that you are each impressed with the other's listing.
When you reject a proposed match that doesn't seem right for you, your listing is removed from the matchlist of the OTHER advertiser. That way they won't waste time trying to follow up on a listing that is not going to work out.
Yes! You can always change your mind. Simply select the rejected ad from your matchlist and click on SHORTLIST. Your ad will be restored to visibility in the other advertiser's matchlist and they will receive a shortlist alert in the usual way. They will never know that you had previously rejected the match.
A silver star match signifies a match that you have not yet evaluated but where the OTHER advertiser has already shortlisted YOU! You can now accept or reject the propsoed match in the usual way - but with the extra knowledge that the other advertiser is impressed with your listing.
A gold star match signified a match where both advertiser's have mutually shortlisted one another. Now you can go ahead and pay for Premium Membership to gain access to one another's contact details confident in the knowledge that you each think the other's listing is impressive.
